Your child may stay for school meals or if you prefer bring a packed lunch.
From September 2014, school dinners for Infant children are free under the new Government initiative. For Junior children school dinners cost £2.20 per day, £11.00 per week. Dinner money is due in advance every Monday morning and should be paid in advance online via SCOPAY. Alternatively you can send payment into school, again in advance, in an envelope showing your child's name, class and amount enclosed. Cheques should be made payable to Woodlands Primary School. The school meal always includes a drink, either juice, milk or water according to the menu.

Children having a packed lunch may bring a still, cold drink but no glass bottles or cans please. Water is always available for all children.
Infant children are provided with a mid-morning snack of either fruit or vegetables each day.
We are trying to encourage healthy eating at Woodlands and have achieved ‘Healthy School’ status. We would, therefore, request that you support us and send into school with Junior children snacks of fresh/dried fruit or vegetables only. No sweets please or sticky, sugary snacks which are very messy and extremely unhealthy, despite being advertised as ‘fruit’ or ‘health’ bars. Children often have difficulty opening and assembling the pre-packed ‘lunchables’ or similar so please try to avoid these if at all possible.
In enable us to provide our school cook, Mrs Jones, with exact numbers of dinners each day, thereby eliminating waste and also ensuring accurate recording and collection of dinner money, we have to request that children have school dinners on the same days each week. Your child can have dinners every day, not at all, or on certain days of the week, i.e. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but they must have dinners on the same day each week, there can be no fluctuating between days
Once you have decided on lunch arrangements we would urge you to keep to that arrangement for a reasonable time. We request two weeks' notice in writing for any change as this helps the cook with ordering food.
Free School Meals Entitlement/ Pupil Premium
We are asking parents and guardians whose children go to school in the Cheshire West and Chester area, have a child in Reception, Y1 or Y2 in September 2014 and have an entitlement to free school meals to complete the application form below.
From September 2014 all pupils in these year groups will be able to receive a school meal at no cost to the parent/guardian. We need to ensure that all parents/guardians that have a statutory entitlement to a free school meal complete this form. We will then be able to confirm whether the school is entitled to claim the pupil premium for your child.
