Commando Joe's

Commando Joe's comes to Brum! | Services for Education

ENDORSED BY SIR RANULPH FIENNES, THE “WORLD’S GREATEST LIVING EXPLORER”, OUR UNIQUE CHARACTER EDUCATION CURRICULUM IS DESIGNED TO ENSURE EVERY CHILD REACHES THEIR FULL POTENTIAL.

Based on the lives of real-life adventurers and explorers, such as Sir Ranulph and Tim Peake, Commando Joe's is a new and exciting program started this year which places character education at the heart of our children's learning.

Pupils learn about a new hero or heroine each term, with practical and mental tasks to complete based on their adventures. Each lesson is structured to give pupils the character tools and values they need to be successful in life such as resilience, determination, empathy, and courage.

The character behaviour traits that we build our school around are divided into 7 categories linked to the COJO central ethos of RESPECT. They include:

 About | Commando Joe's    About | Commando Joe's    About | Commando Joe's    About | Commando Joe's      About | Commando Joe's    About | Commando Joe's

Cooperating and learning with their peers in a safe environment, alongside taking on enjoyable and relevant activities will help enable the children of our school to make the correct choices in everyday life both inside of school and out.

We know that through the use of Commando Joe's we are creating the right environment for our young people. The positive character behaviours they develop will enable them to respond well to challenges they face not only now but also in the future.

Commando Joe's Character Curriculum:

Woodlands x Commando Joe Project Launch

We are very proud to be a school chosen by Commando Joe to lead the way in innovation by designing our own Commando Joe missions based on the topics we teach as part of our school curriculum. Our Woodlands teachers worked together in their year group teams to design a mission for their children. Once the missions were delivered by teachers to their classes, our teachers met with Commando Joe staff to discuss feedback on the missions - what went well and how they could be made even better - as well as designs for how the missions are to look once finalised by Commando Joe!

We are very excited to share our creative missions with our school community as soon as they have been finalised and printed, so keep your eyes peeled!

Commando Gus

Ready for our return to school in March 2021, following the third UK lockdown, we designed our own Commando Joe style missions to introduce our gorgeous school dog, Gus, to the children. The missions we completed are attached below. They were whole-school missions, completed by all children from Nursery - Year 6. The positivity, empathy and teamwork displayed by the children of all ages was paramount, and there was a real buzz around school in readiness for our newest, furriest team member.
